Delete your Haulyn account
This page explains how to delete an account you created in the HAULYN app or the HAULYN Driver app, both published by Haulyn, Inc. You can delete the account in the app, or ask us to delete it with the request form or by email if you no longer have the app.
Delete your account in the app
HAULYN (rider app)
- Open the HAULYN app and sign in.
- Go to Account.
- Choose Delete account.
HAULYN Driver
- Open the HAULYN Driver app and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account.
Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.
Delete your account without the app
Use this form to ask us to delete your account. The form does not delete anything. It files a request and alerts Haulyn. A Haulyn operator then checks that the request comes from the account holder and, only then, deletes the account.
If the form does not work for you, use the email route below.
Email support@gethaulyn.com and ask us to delete your account. Send the request from the email address on the account, or include the mobile number the account uses, so that we can find it. Haulyn completes the deletion for you; you do not need to install or open the app.
We may need to confirm that the request comes from the account holder before we act on it.
What Haulyn erases
- Your name, phone number and email address: from your profile, from review prompts, from the masked numbers used to connect riders and drivers, and from any support conversation you had with us.
- Riders: your saved addresses.
- Drivers: your date of birth, and your driver license number, state, class and expiration date; your current location.
- Push notifications to your device, and your sign-in. You will not be able to sign in again, and the account cannot be restored.
What Haulyn keeps, and why
- Riders: your past trips, receipts and payments. Haulyn has to keep its record of money that moved, for accounting and tax. These stay, tied to an ID that no longer names you.
- Drivers: your completed trips, earnings, payouts and tax forms. Haulyn pays drivers directly and reports earnings to the IRS, so it has to keep these records and issue your 1099. Tax forms identify you, as the law requires.
- Drivers: your license, insurance and inspection documents, your vehicle record, your background check result, and the location history of trips you drove. If a claim is made about a trip, sometimes years later, Haulyn and its insurer have to be able to show you were licensed and insured that day, and where the vehicle was.
- The agreements you accepted (drivers), and your text-message opt-in or STOP record, including the phone number it applies to. Telecom rules require Haulyn to be able to show you agreed before it texted you, and to keep honoring a STOP.
- Ratings and trip notes. They belong to the trip, not to your profile.
- Support messages you exchanged with Haulyn: what was said and when, with your phone number and email address removed.
How long Haulyn keeps them
- Location history of trips: five years.
- The log of support and notification messages (what was said and when, with contact details removed): seven years.
Haulyn has not yet set a retention period for the other records listed above: trips, receipts, payments, payouts and tax forms; license, insurance and inspection documents; the vehicle record; the background check result; accepted agreements; the text-message opt-in and STOP record; and ratings. This page will state each one when it is decided.
